Dear Cutters, the final 2 Courses are now started at 3pm and 6pm on the Northney side.
As usual part of the Course is an evening session here at Langstone to introduce the new Course participants to the Cutters, where we are, how we operate and see the boats. In this 6 week period, the tides are a bit awkward, so we have the Cutters evening next Wednesday 4th September. It is very early in the cycle so they will not have had much practice, and so we have changed the arrangements to make it easier for the Club members to support the Group. High Water is around 4.15pm... so it means the 3pm course can meet at the usual time, in the Boat Park. there are 10 of them. They are aiming to be finished at 4.30/5pm. We will encourage them to stay and meet the other course people. Then the 6pm course have been invited to come earlier at 5pm and there are 9 of them... Can I ask for some volunteers to help meet & greet them; show them the ropes and go for a short 'open' row as we normally do? Chris Partridge and I will be there to guide them... If you can make both that's great, but if it is only 3pm or 5pm that works as well. Can you please post to register your willingness to help??? Mike |
I can help for the 3pm session

Dear Cutters, Many thanks to the Cutters who turned up to host the latest Get Up and Go! Course participants. We had 2 x Galleys and 2 x Teifis out to begin with and 2 x Galleys for the second session... the Attendees all enjoyed the rowing. Over the next 4 weeks on a Wednesday we will be moving boats over for them to experience more Sculling and Galley Rowing, as well as the St Ayles and Pilot Gigs... Thanks again all, a lovely evening on the water, in spite of the wind!! Mike Gilbert
