Apologies, Mike, but have had family rearrangements imposed which mean I cannot help you on Saturday. Hope it all goes well!

Crew,

Check with Mike,  I think meet and greet at 10.00. He no longer needs a Galley as he has pressed the second Skiff into action. So all crew to go to the Marina.

Cheers

So to be clear.... the session is open from 10 to 16.00... we are using both St Ayles Skiffs and also a Galley if available... even if you can spare an hour that will help... have 20 plus people rolling up.... but no idea when... happy days...

Dear Cutters, the second (and last) Open Day for the Get Up and Go! Programme is set for Saturday the 6th July at the Unit in Northney Marina.

HBC have been advertising it and have around 20 people interested already...

So if people can spare an hour or 2 on the day that would be a big help.

We offer them tea and cake (yes cake); show them the St Ayles Skiffs and and - weather permitting - take them for a row in 2's with a couple of good rowers in the boat helping.

Usual response please here, and if you can be there to talk up rowing in any capacity, please do come along - even for an hour...

Mike

Thank you; thank you; thank you!! to all those helpers yesterday for the Get Up and Go! Open Day at the Marina... the sunny weather and feedback from the previous courses had led to a massive level of interest.  We have planned for 19-25 people to come along and try out coastal rowing with the Cutters - but we were swamped with 45 people who come along and tried... 29 of whom turned up without pre-registering.

Many thanks to the Cutters who mucked in to help: Chris Partridge and Miles who spent most of the day coxing and coaching - Miles by the way is an excellent coach!- Jenny; Bobby; Joan (from last years GUAG!); Frances; Sue; Teri (thanks for the ginger cake - all gone!) Elizabeth (from this years GUAG!); Elaine and Mo...

HBS report that both the 2 courses starting on Wednesday are now full, and a waiting list is building-up. So we may yet put on a 3rd Course during the July/August period ...

As a result as well we have been asked to run a further Open Day on the 17th August in order to fill the last 2 Courses that run in August/September. That will be the last of the year!!

But mostly thank you all for supporting us and making this a success - it shows the underlying interest in recreational rowing across the community; and the feedback on all our team was perfect... described as friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic... awesome!!
