Help needed at LSC on Saturday 17th - 1:45pm.

Dear all,
As some of you may know I am working very closely with Langstone Sailing Club to increase their ‘SailAbility’ - mental and physical disability charity programme, to newly include rowing.

We need to try the boat out in the harbour, as it’s not been in the water for some time.
It’s a very nice St Ayles skiff, with a launching trailer, but does require a little work here and there.

We’re looking to meet at LSC (parking availible on site) on Saturday 17th at 1:45pm for 2-3 hours.
We need some help at this stage to ensure the boat is seaworthy and iron out any problems, before we start putting students into it later this month.

I also wondered if it might be possible to borrow some cushions for a couple of hours too please, as we have yet to order some new ones for the boat?

The plan for Saturday is, we currently need 3/4 rowers to help make up a full crew to test the trailer, the boat, the (unusual) oars and put together a plan for launching and retrieving etc.  

Please let me know if you’re interested in helping us this Saturday and also possibly getting involved in the future too. As this would also help create a strong link between the our two clubs, which may be beneficial for all in the future.

Matt,  this Saturday,  in setting up essc function to hold trafalgar dinner in evening and also visiting hisc for launch of their celtic.  So unfortunately,  I can't help,  but would be willing in the future.

Thanks to all other repliers offering help for the future too, it’s a lovely and very worthwhile local charity project within the Three Harbours, so I’ll definitely be calling on you all from time to time.

Hi Matt This is a great initiative, and I am free and willing to help on Saturday. Only thing is that it is forecast to be F4-5, so I am not sure how much use I would be rowing. Feel free to pick others (if any) instead.

Thank you all so much for your offer of help at LSC tomorrow. Yes please to you all if possible.
We have a couple of other volunteers helping too, but the more the merrier!!
It’ll be great to have you all there, as the more ideas and thoughts the better…we’ll need as much input as possible please!!

We need to see how the boat launches/retrieves and how it rows with the unusual oars.
We’ll probably go out in 2 lots, so wrap up warm it’s going to be windy, but we won’t be out for ages….please also all bring a life jacket (just in case!!)

My card will be behind the bar when we’re finished!!
