At the AGM on 5 February, it was agreed that we would pause the purchase of a new Claydon Trailer. Instead, members supported taking a more detailed look at how our current fleet meets the needs of the membership — both now and over the next 5–10 years.
This review will consider:
- What we currently have,
- What we may need/want in the future,
- Any operational/practical constraints,
- Funding options,
- Whether purchasing a new boat and/or/if retiring an older one would better support the Club’s objectives.
To take this forward, a working group will develop a business plan and present options back to the Committee and then to the membership for discussion and decision.
Dave Myles has kindly agreed to lead this group, and we are now seeking volunteers from across the membership to contribute ideas and help explore all possible scenarios.
I know that several of you have a view so if you would like to help shape the future of our fleet, please comment below to express your interest. Once we have sufficient volunteers, Dave will be in touch to arrange the first meeting.
