Mabel broken from her mooring. Vernon found her on the far extreme of North Common at Northney. Sue L, Frances, Vernon and I then moved her to a safe inlet out of reach of the west and south west winds predicted over the next 24 hrs. The winds were too strong for the four of us to attempt to row her back to Langstone. Mabel is now beached at the following location:-
By land, if you take the metaled footpathe from North Common car park and keep going until you reach the barbed wire fence to stop further passage along the coast. What 3 words location is "rant. committee.laptop"
If approaching from langstone by sea, row to Sware Deep Marker, then turn in to Hayling Island.
We really need a crew to try and recover her and return her to Langstone on the afternoon tide on Monday. Unfortunately, neither Frances or I are around on Monday. So could someone take a lead on this please.
As an observation, for the bosun. It would appear that the screw-up shackle was open. I dont know if this was caused by the action of the wind pulling on the connector or the last person to secure Mabel, not affixing it correctly.
