Loading boats for Hamble River Raid and arrangements for the race

Colin McPhee
 Dear Rowers

Bembridge is back in the compound even if is just for a week to allow her to compete in the Hamble River Raid .

We need a working party to assist load all the boats ready for the Hamble River Raid. Please can as many as possible meet on Thursday 11th May in the evening at around 7pm to load up the boats onto the trailers.

There is a lot to do

The trailers need to be collected from The Lodge and carefully pushed around the garden onto the main Drive and down the High Street ( Not he usual gates )

The trailers have to be loaded including  the double trailer with two Galleys so we need at least 10 to lift the boats on the trailer

The Claydons need to be loaded as well . I note high hide is 12 pm so we may have to ask for volunteers to collect the boats and allow them to dry out on the beach so they can be loaded if they can not be loaded when recovered at lunchtime.

On the Saturday please can we all meet at Langstone at 9.30 to depart for the Hamble . The boats all have to be unloaded at the a marina slip about a mile up river from the event and the process will take a while .

Please make sure you all bring warm clothing just in case it gets cold and sun tan lotion in case the sun is shining.

More notices will be sent out over the course of the next few days

I can be at the mill at 13:00 Thursday to bring both claydons ashore. Could I have two volunteers to help? The timing is 30 mind after hw, so should dry or ok.
