Missing You All and Rowing

ron and cheryl
Hi All, hope you're all well and coping with house arrest like us. We are fine and looking forward to return of rowing and getting together again. Perhaps we could have a good old get together in the boat park, get the boats out, randomly row and have a bit of a party when it's over? What do you think?

All the best, chins up

Just because I have been sitting at home eating no need to refer to my “chins”. But yes, good idea, look forward to seeing you again. Michael.

Hi all

There is 'someone' out there rowing for exercise at High Water.
Seems to start and finish from the beach at Warblington Road, Emsworth.
Rower doing circuit, Mill, Marina to Marker, reversing course alternate days.
Highly motivated Single scull........Could be a member or potential member.
Any clues......too far for me to see more from the Emsworth Yacht Harbour wall
All the best

I'm pretty sure I know who that is .... but I'd never snitch on a fellow renegade rower

Not meant for snitching but I have been admiring the ability to row backwards vigorously and without running into anything for quite a long time and distance.

Is it a sliding seat?

On the other hand they are obviously not on the mailing list for the Chi Habour weekly bulletin....or have decided to ignore it....

Weekend Navigation Bulletin

Welcome to the first Weekly Navigation Bulletin of 2020.

This bulletin at this point is an information bulletin and we will return to the regular content and features when the current situation and official advice allows.

Covid 19 Response

Recreational Boating

Harbour Users are directed to the current Government advice relating to the Coronavirus pandemic, restricting travel to:

shopping for basic necessities, for example food and medicine, which must be as infrequent as possible.
one form of exercise a day, for example a run, walk, or cycle - alone or with members of your household.
any medical need, or to provide care or to help a vulnerable person.
travelling to and from work, but only where you cannot work from home.
Recreational boating is contrary to this advice and has the potential to place extra strain on emergency services.

Sculling hard up the harbour is not recreational its definitely exercise. If you choose calm days and row close to the shore it's not putting any sort of strain on rescue services. Especially if you are lucky enough to have a very stable boat with a buoyancy tank. Theoretically of course

Definitely looking forward to getting back out on the water, so hard when the weather has been so good!
At least I can walk by the water!
Take care all. Stay safe.
