Sunday 9th Feb. is consistently being forecast as diabolical....whichever source of info you use!
The good news is that the temperature will rise on Sunday....the bad news is that, that same heat will help drive the wind and rain to do dastardly things in and around Langstone!
The result is - misery for eager rowers! The forecast force 7 and force 8 winds are way above our club safety guidelines for open rowing, and so there is no option but to CANCEL the row scheduled to start at 09-30
We will also be experiencing spring tides, so it may e a bit wet outside the Royal Oak towards 11-20
For any of you delighting in seeing the power of the sea why not go to the east-head end of the south coast of Hayling Island at high tide, instead of rowing on Sunday?
Don't park your cars near the sea front - they will get doused in salt, and maybe even an occasional pebble attempting to ruin your nice paintwork!!!
But the waves should be spectacular!
