I suspect I may be crossing some sort of invisible line but here goes ..... is there any chance the Sallyport crew could use the Carbon blades in the GRR? Those of us who rowed with them on the Broads fell in love with them and we have been practising with them ever since. One rather refined gentleman from CRAB did remark that they are not so much a nod to the 21st century as a 'dirty' great head-butt .... but it's all a matter of taste. Let me know what you think!
Rachel, no problem with you asking... The custom and practice has been that Bembridge gets the racing oars..... need to check with the Bembridge crew Captain if they are prepared to relinquish the Carbons!!....

Thanks Mike and Christine, I think I can see which way the wind is blowing :-) Perhaps we could look at getting a second set of Carbons ready for next year's racing so that more of the Cutters can satisfy their lust for speed? I would be happy to contribute if we needed to do some fundraising :-)
