SATURDAY Excursion row 10.00 with Matt O'Neil

Hi All

Check List = Grab Bags, Radios & life preservers.


Matt is currently away working and has asked me to post details of his Saturday excursion row.


Captain Matt and his first mate Long John Andy will be launching boats at the Mill slip at 10.00 on Saturday.

We will not be back any later than 14.30

Current forecast suggests S / SW breeze force 4

That being the case we will likely row to Marker or Verner and pop into Emsworth for a cuppa.

The wind could be gusting up to F 5 hence it could be hard work coming out of Emsworth on the return leg.

We will review on the day and will select boats according to crew and wind strengths.

So do you think this will be to long a row for me if your out till about 2.30,

We will only be rowing for a couple of hours and the rest of the time is launching and recovering boats and dropping into Emsworth for refreshments etc.

Saturday's tide is a large spring and with the fresh breeze forecasted, conditions wil be bumpy and more challenging for rowing, but if you are game, please feel free to come along.

I would like to row, but currently in a Claydon only.

I recognise the differing requirements and expectations of others and I will report at 1000 and await your decision.

If a Claydon is not possible I would help you launch etc and but then remain ashore.

Please do not let this influence your decision on boat choice, its mainly my recognition of my reality.
