Saturday Excursion Row 18 October 07.30am

Frances
Hello All. Saturday morning looks to be mild with a fresh south westerly breeze, could be force 3 to 4...but dry so far. I shall be found waiting at t'Mill, with my head-torch on, at 07.25 on Saturday morning, and I thought we might head to Emsworth for breakfast...the Greenhouse Cafe opens at 08.30, should be just the ticket!

Hi Frances,

  Definitely and yes please!
The gig club are busy having a spot of racing at 9 ish, so we could always tease them at some point on our expedition  :-)

Hi Frances,

Yes please for a place.

Just a point that on the Slipper sailing club website, they seem to be doing their "lifting of boats out" on Saturday, so it might be a bit busy!

Thanks,

Alan H

Mabel is on her trailer in Colin's garden, which needs both wheels changed. Unfortunately he has to move it for the builders, and because he had a new hip he can't do it himself. Which is a long way of saying can anyone join me after the row tomorrow to pop up to his place and change the wheels? He has promised tea...

Frances
I can't believe there's 12 of you at that time in the morning, I thought I'd be on my own!
Thank you Alan for the note about the Slipper Club Lift-In. I think it's probably not wise to rock up at the beach with several big boats with huge cruisers swinging around on cranes above our heads - the area is simetimes closed off anyway for safety. So I have provisionally booked us in at the Deck in Emsworth Marina...next I need to check if there are actually 2 sea worthy galleys in the boat park for us to use...I haven't been down for ages...does anyone know, please?

Hi Frances,

Well there were on Tuesday when we took Lady and Bembridge off for a cup of tea in Emsworth.  Sallyport is all covered up and on the trailer, but the other two should be all ready to go - unless Geoff has other plans?

....and what's wrong with that time of morning ?

Dear Frances

We had two full Galleys for a blustery, fun outing to the 'Deck' great grub! Got back dry, well mostly, apart from the odd oar splash as we turned for home.

Thankyou for organising.

Cheers

Tim
