Southampton Parade of Sail Saturday 27 May

The official end of Southampton Week of Sail is a parade down Southampton Water behind a Switzer tug, which will be spraying water everywhere in traditional style. It should be a very impressive event and I think a Solent galley should be there.
I propose we launch at Weston Shore which has all the basic requirements (a slipway, a car park and a loo) but if that proves not to be feasible (it can get covered with rocks) we will move to Woolston.
The timetable is:
Meet Langstone 10.00, load Sallyport on to trailer. Depart 10.30.
Launch 12.00
Parade passes Dock Head 12.40
Row down to Hamble oil jetty with parade and return to Weston Shore (about 10 miles).
We should get back to Langstone at about 16.00.
Numbers will be limited to six unless someone volunteers to tow Langstone Lady. The event is free but pin+petrol money will be £5.

Chris and all, I have negotiated a 'free' entry for a Cutters boat in the Coal Rows event...

I now cannot do Saturday or Sunday with the Skiff due to other commitments. But the Galley is welcome to go to Southampton and and use the launching facility and pontoon place so you can do both Saturday and Sunday...

I may take Bella and Bonnie on Monday for the Parade..

Thanks Mike, but the object is to show a local traditional boat so it should be a galley.
