Strava App, change metres to miles

Frances
Has anyone any advice please, today's 5 Mile Row appears on my Strava app in metres, even though I have opted for Imperial measurements.
I've been into Profile, then Settings, then Display, then Units of measurement. I've ensured that Imperial, not Metric is selected.
When I press record to start a new activity, the Speed/distance figures are shown as 'mi'.... That's miles, as opposed to metres.
But the end result shown on the map page is shown in metres.
I'd very much appreciate any suggestions please, if anyone else has had this, and solved it
Thanks

I have the same issue.  I recorded in miles but it now shows as metres. I cropped the row to exactly 5 miles and it shows as 8049 metres although the race organisers I think say 8047 metres.

Hi all. You are both right that is what Strava seems to do. I don't think it's a problem though because as Joan says the race distance is 5 miles or 8.047 kilometres so its fine to submit our results in kms. In fact you might choose to actually record the race in kms because you will be able to crop it more easily because the accuracy is better. Also the number will go up faster which is more encouraging! It definitely doesn't matter if your distance is a few metres over Joan it's less than the length of the boat.
