Tow row Friday - SWeare Deep

We would like to put SWeare Deep on her trailer and tow to a nearby slipway for a row and towing practice.

Pete, If you have time - please could you take photos of all the securing positions and connections so that they can be used for future reference.

1). The jockey wheel bracket ( outer tube plus clamp) has now been correctly clamped** and adjusted.
You should only need to adjust the trailer height by winding the handle.
Remember to only have the nose HIGH when you are NOT moving the trailer around.
                                   [e.g. Jockey wheel extended for the purpose of draining the boat, or mating the trailer with the tow vehicle]
 If you hit a bump or object with the post HIGH you will BEND or BREAK the jockey wheel post and/or mounting bracket.
2).  When you put the trailer top clamp on top of the boat ( to clamp down on the boat), make sure (a) that the first the boat is secure, (b) then shake it to give the whole boat and trailer a “ bit of a wobble” to settle it and the clamp into place.
ONLY THEN should you attempt to clamp the trailer top clamp down!
 Omitting this simple action will almost certainly mean you end up with a tightly clamped trailer, but with the boat free to move around on the trailer (or OFF IT if you are really unlucky!)

** For the purists….  When the clamp release handle is tightened up, see that the gaps in the fore and aft of the clamp bracket are equal ( around 2mm), and that the outer tube is absolutely VERTICAL and immovable.
