Crew,
Lets get behind the Langstone Gig club and celebrate rowing this Saturday. Racing Starts at 12 and finishes at 1700. We have Mabel and Sallyport accessible from the Work pontoon at the Marina. Other visiting boats may also be available. I propose meeting at 10.30 and going for a light row. Returning in time to anchor/moor to a spare bouy to catch the Racing and cheer on our teams and the others it is fun watching the turns ( Ron the Lens will be taking press shots) We can picnic and watch the racing for a while before returning to the pontoon. It is possible to repeat this so others can join in later although low water will limit position etc. In the event of over subscription Langstone Lady/Gladys are still available. I will attempt to co-ordinate this Saturday so please let me know and I will post the crew list tonight last orders and review at 9.00 ish tomorrow. Cheers
Steve Woods

Steve, one has to laugh, as we move from social rowing with visitors to it all being cancelled and now there is a call to row again. Well Frances and I would be OK to turn up at 10:30 for a bit of a row. But we need to be dropped onto the shore just after 12 as we are hosting a party for my father's 90th birthday in the afternoon. But if the majority of others need to do a longer, more purposeful row, then we will drop out.

Crew,
WE have x2 crews of 5/6 so perfect and room for x1 more ? Me Rachel Ron Cheryl Andy Mark Frances Nigel Marilyn John Liz Northney Marina barrier probably up if not 9947, (last minute Bladder voids Boys Loos on the outside of the office and girls inside 3599A )the Disembarking from the Pontoon via South gate nearest the slipway code:9947A it could be busy so take extra care. We row out, could be blustery, Mark, Frances, Nigel and Rachel all need to get back for 12. I suggest we all do, have a loo stop and assemble our picnic. I have Berries and Meringues to share and will bring crockery and glasses. The remaining 6 picnic and watch the Gigs for say 90 mins and then pootle back to the Marina and mingle with the crowds or get involved with other visiting rowers who may want to row? Howzat?

Howzat indeed Steve.
Spot on and clean bowled with a delightful delivery of rowing, picnicking, grand stand viewing and bonhomie. Nicely followed by shore leave to enjoy the great atmosphere at the Regatta. Macaroons, berrries and all. Perfect. Big thanks and well done you. Andy |
