Trafalgar Day 21st October

Mike Gilbert
...well normally at this time of the year we are looking forward to our celebratory dinner, organised by Les and Anne Plater, usually on or about the 21st at the Ship Inn... ... a  bit roast beef and all the trimmings; a review of our success in the Great River Race (or not); a mingling with fellow members to catch up and enjoying such simple social pleasures... with of course, a speech about Lord Nelson and his life and times... usually finishing with a toast...

Sadly not this year!!

But! I have opened a bottle of Port and tomorrow will be raising a glass ... "...to his Immortal memory  and all those who fell with him..." I hope some of you will join me!!

Mike
