Tudor Challenge 19th August - LifeJackets

Matt O’Neill
Hi all,
Having read the briefing notes all rowers must have life jackets in the boat and all cox’s must wear them or you won’t be rowing (says they will be checking)!!

With this in mind, I have a 5 spare LifeJackets I can bring, so if anyone doesn’t have their own and needs one, please shout before tomorrow morning so I know how many are needed.

Cheers,
Matt

Hi Matt, presumably to be correct, it's personal flotation devices we need not lifejackets. R

Hi Jo, no problem at all.

As to answer your question Richard, the course details put out to all captains require either a “buoyancy aid or lifejacket” , so whatever works best for you.
I don’t have any spare buoyancy aids to lend out, but do have lifejackets. Having rowed half my life, I personally find buoyancy aids get in the way when racing, but it’s personal preference and hopefully weather will be settled enough that we won’t need the entire crew wearing them anyway. Cox’s must wear them at all times.
Hope that answers your question.
See you tomorrow.
Matt
