Use of the Teifis for exercise rows

Dear Cutters

Firstly I hope you are all safe and well and keeping fit ready for our return to rowing when it comes.

I had a conversation with the Chichester Harbour master yesterday and they have confirmed that they are happy for people to row for exercise. In fact they said that they would encourage us to do so as the Harbour is not closed and is a large open space which is currently empty. They will be out patrolling but if they approach it is only for a chat and to check you we are ok.

To this end our Chairman agrees that we can allow couples or cohabitees ( made up word? ) to take the Teifis out.

We need to make sure that we are not putting a strain on the emergency services so please look carefully at the weather forecast and tides before planning a row. If you have not sculled before or are not confident about navigating in the harbour please don't take the risk now.  I probably don't need to mention this but it's only for exercise at the moment not leisure rows.

Please sanitise the trailer handle and oar handles before and after each row and wash hands in accordance with guidance to ensure everyone's safety. Please also post as far in advance as you can so that people can see whether the boats are available.

Apologies to those of you who can't take advantage of this and I hope to see you all on the water before too long

Rachel
