Weekend rowing: Sunday 20th December .... is CANCELLED

Well folks, that looks like the end of any hopes of a last bullish row before Christmas. !!!
In the newly announced restrictions there are at least three directives which will prevent our rowing on Sunday.
On top of that it is clear that the general intention to contain and curtail the spread of (especially the new variant) covid virus, means we should be doing everything we are encouraged to do (or not do!) -and a bit more!
Many words, much sadness but the result is clear.......The Sunday row is cancelled

Happy Christmas everyone.
Nigel.

:(
I am awaiting definition of the latest covid restrictions, [###] but assuming we are allowed to go out then the Sunday weather looks reasonable at the moment.
Wind will be f3/4, northerly backing to northwest, and current forecast is that it will become cloudier, wetter and cooler during the row, so come prepared with warm gear. Neapish tides mean we shall stick to the main channels and probably not aim to cover great distances.
Please note: take extra care about all the covid precautions, and track-and-trace, - especially as we are close to Christmas and it could affect so many other people.

[###] - currently the ARA v 8.2 advice for Tier 2 and Teir 3 is " Travel should be minimised but is permitted if necessary to allow individual household exercise".  HOWEVER, I understand that there is to be a cabinet revision of these rules and regs around midday on Saturday - hence my caveat of revising this post (as stated below) on Saturday afternoon.
I am also aware of the general intention in all the guidance which is to restrict and minimise the possible transmission of covid. This I shall support, even if it means that this row is restricted more than the current guidance and regs dictate.[###]

Sign up as usual.

I will review and update on late Saturday afternoon.

Nigel there is a restriction that you cannot travel between Tiers for organised sport so please could you change your post to say that only people in Tier3 can row.

Sorry!

Just in case you missed these:

Anita Preston added a new post asking to join Sunday's row. I don't know where Anita lives.

John D. Pearce added a new post asking to join as well. John lives in Petersfield, East Hants.

Thanks, Elizabeth, for that update. I had noted their responses?
Please look at this forum thread again this afternoon, after the fresh government pronouncements.
(and note my additions to the original posting for this row).
