I'm interested Lesley. I'm now doing it in Slipper's boat but there's lots to learn so I'd join in.

Lesley, and subsequent contributors to this thread. I would be happy to run a course to guide you in the fundamentals of coxing a boat. We would start with the fundamentals of controling and steering the boat by use of both rudder and the crew's oars.
I would suggest we use a Claydon, as the trainee and instructor can sit side by side. Everyone could then take it in turns to sit in coxes seat. If we run the session with myself and 6 others, we could put one person in passenger at bow which would help to balance the fact that we had two sitting at stern. If my diary is free and weather and tides permit, then very happy to do this. Would you be happy to coordinate Lesley?

Happy to coordinate with those that want to do it. Can I ask about the theory side of it as I know the courses have that too? I would like to be qualified eventually. Thanks Mark for offering your services. I and the others will gratefully accept.

Thank you for this offer Mark.
Lesley, I've had the huge benefit of Mark and his team training us at Slipper, so will take a back seat unless there's room in the boat sometimes. So, please do keep me in the loop just in case. I don't want to be qualified (good on you!!) I'd just prefer to not crash or ground the boats. |
Hi Pam, that is my aspiration to be qualified & not a requirement to join in this with Mark. I'll include you in all things as not everyone will be available at the same time x.
