Midnight Row Sunday 27th

This Sunday the supermoon is likely to be visible. Clear skies and light winds are predicted. High water is 23.30 and it is a biggie - 5m. Anyone fancy a moonlit row?
We would need to meet at about 21.00. I suggest we go to Emsworth, have a quick beer and back around midnight.

Weather dependent I'd love to come along. Chemo sleeplessness means I should be bright and shiny at that time - and all the way through to 6.30am if last night is anything to go by!!

If it's too cold (bitterly! I can handle brisk) or raining I will have to withdraw as I'm too at risk of getting ill at this time but hopefully the forecast will hold.

Shel :)

When I posted this idea I was under the impression the eclipse was on Monday night, but it turns out it is on Monday morning.
So as a bonus, anyone who stays up until 01.11 will get the start of the eclipse and 'blood moon' as well.

I got this a bit wrong. The eclipse starts at 01.10 but only with the earth's penumbra. The total eclipse doesn't start until 03.11 but it continues until 04.22 so there is plenty of time to wake up, go for a pee, watch the eclipse and still get a few more zzzz's in before breakfast.
There is a brilliant animation here: http://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/in/uk/portsmouth

Looking forward to seeing you all this evening - at the moment it looks like two galleys and a Teifi.

Hi Chris,   'fraid I'm going to have to cry off tonight - only just got in from playing in Poole Harbour.

Have an excellent row all!

Chris and all!

I'm really sorry but my meds are not letting me settle and regulate my temperature and so being out in a boat is not going to do my body any good - though it would do wonders for my soul!

So unfortunately I'm going to have to pull out too.

I count two full galleys and a teifi, no passengers to get cold, with my withdrawal and so I'm hopeful I'm not scuppering anyone's row.

Have a good one.

Jealously,
Shel x
