Dear all,
I know you will want to know that Steve passed away at 5am this morning surrounded by his family in the place that he loved. You won't be surprised to know that he dealt with his illness with dignity and care for those around him despite the devastating nature of it. The messages and cards you sent gave us both strength and I will always be so grateful that he knew he was loved and respected by you all.
I know you have your family around you, but please remember you have an extended family in all of us in the Cutters. We are willing and able to help with whatever you need.
Love,
Lesley and Michael

We have only known Steve for a brief time yet he managed to inspire and motivate both me and Chris with his support and encouragement. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and all his family.
Rachel, how can we express what we feel for your loss when there are no words. We have all lost a wonderful man and a great friend. As Lesley said, you are part of the big cutters family who hold you in our hearts and will be here for you whatever and whenever.
Words fail me. Steve was a wonderful mentor and like a brother to us all. He will be very, very sadly missed.
It goes without saying Rachel, if there’s anything you or your family need then please don’t hesitate to shout.
Thoughts, prayers and love to you all. Matt
Dear Rachel, my thoughts and prayers are with you and all Steve's family at this sad time. May he now rest in peace knowing how much he was loved by so many. Sending you gentle hugs. X
Steve was an inspirational man and the epitome of a team player. He has left a legacy, not least the rowing spirit in the Harbour. He will be sadly missed. My thoughts are with you and the family as you come to terms with your loss. Paul
Our thoughts and condolences are with you Rachel, and with Steve's family.
You, and we all, know that he wasn't just an ordinary person but someone who could, and did, inspire others from all walks of life. He will be greatly missed. His care and concern for others, is an inspiration to us all.
Angela and Nigel.
... some of us (Matt, Marylin), are in the Royal Oak.... by the fire thanking Steve for his gifts and counting our blessings... mike
